Recipe Requests - Recipes Found - Butter Fudge Recipes
Thanks to Collette for sending in these two Butter Fudge Recipes, which were recently requested in an issue of Our NEWSLETTER
Butter Fudge 2 cups granulated sugar1 cup milk2 (1 ounce) squares chocolate, grated1/8 teaspoon cream of tartar1/2 cup butter1 teaspoon vanilla extract1 cup nut meats, chopped Combine first four ingredients. Boil to soft ball stage (234 degrees F to 236 degrees F). Add butter; cool to lukewarm. Add vanilla extract. Beat until thick, then add nut meats. Pour into buttered pan.
Butter Fudge II 6 cups granulated sugar 2 sticks (1 cup) butter (no substitutes) 1 large can evaporated milk 1 cup light corn syrupVanilla extract 1 cup nuts In a large saucepan, cook all ingredients together (except vanilla extract and nuts) to soft ball. Remove from heat and let cool a little; then beat until mixture starts to thicken. Add vanilla extract and nuts. Fudge should be creamy but firm. Variations: To make chocolate fudge, add 6 tablespoons cocoa to sugar, or add peanut butter if peanut butter fudge is desired.
