Easy, Delicious Beer Can Chicken (Grilling, BBQ, Recipes)
Beer can chicken is a phenomenon around here! Everyone loves how moist and delicious it makes their chicken. You can purchase a specially made beer can chicken roaster (that holds a can of beer AND the chicken, all snugly together.) OR...you can cheat and create your own simple beer can chicken roaster. Here's my simple method to delicious, moist chicken that doesn't taste like beer at all!
You'll need:
- 1 can of beer (half poured out - or drink it!) - 1 chicken - Favorite grilling spice/rub - garlic/onions - roasting pan
Wash the inside and outside of the chicken thoroughly and pat dry with paper towels. Discard.
Pour out (or drink) half the beer. Pop in some fresh peeled garlic cloves and slivers of onions into the beer can. It just adds more flavor. You can add whatever flavor elements you love the most or leave the beer plain if you prefer. (It adds moisture to the chicken, not beer flavor.)
Rub the entire outside of the chicken with your favorite grill seasoning or rub. Settle the chicken onto the beer can - the beer can will fill much of the cavity.
Place the chicken into the roasting pan. Bake at 350 degrees until chicken is cooked through - be sure to use a meat thermometer to test for doneness. Let the chicken rest for at least 10 minutes before slicing. :) Enjoy!
