Champagne Trivia & Champagne Tips
If you love champagne, you'll love these - trivia and hints about champagne:
Champagne was first made by MISTAKE! In the 17th century, French monks created champagne by mistake when the still wine they were making fermented again inside the corked bottle, trapping carbon dioxide inside. What a delicious mistake it was!
Real champagne comes from the Champagne region in France.
Many other areas of France (and countries around the world) create similar sparkling wines, but only sparkling wine from Champagne can be called such.
Why use those fancy champagne flutes? There's a method to the madness: the thin and tall champagne flutes help to preserve those delicious bubbles the best!
Opening a bottle of champagne isn't as difficult as you might think. Don't shake the bottle - there's plenty of pressure inside as it is, and by shaking the bottle you'll just end up losing a lot of that delicious wine inside. Instead, keep one hand firmly on the cork, while using the other to gently turn the bottle. That accululated pressure inside will push the cork out quite easily this way.
