Sunday, August 27, 2006 Another Tip for Cleaning Rusty Crochet Hooks

Just sent in to me by an unnamed reader:

"I would think that some WD-40 would remove the rust for you and then if the metal is still a little rough I would try a light buffing with a nail buffer or a very light sanding with an emery board.
I have found that rubbing a little sewing machine oil over netal hooks when storing them keeps the rust away. This works well with all metal needles. Just remember to wipe them off before you use them."
